Inspired by a dream in which I the painting of the beach. As I woke up, it made me think about Psalm 139:17-18
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand when I awake, I am still with You.
I saw the starfish before painting. It made me think about Alessandro d'Avegna in "What hell is not":
“Two men are walking on a beach, a storm has thrown a carpet of starfish onto the sand. It looks like a starry sky in reverse. The sun is burning them, mercilessly. Starfish slowly writhe before crystallizing completely. One of the two occasionally bends down to pick one up and throws it back into the sea. There are thousands and thousands. The other is in a hurry to get home and says《What do you want to do, throw them all back into the sea? It's impossible. It would take a week. You're crazy?》 The other shows him the starfish he is holding, and immediately before throwing it into the water he replies:《Do you think she'll say I'm crazy?》"

Ispirato a un sogno con il dipinto della spiaggia. Al risveglio ho pensato al Salmo139:17-18
Oh, quanto mi sono preziosi i Tuoi pensieri, o Dio! Quanto grande è l'intero loro numero! Se li volessi contare, sarebbero più numerosi della sabbia; quando mi sveglio sono ancora con Te.
La stella marina l'ho vista prima di dipingere. Mi ha fatto pensare ad Alessandro d'Avegna in "Ció che inferno non è":
“Due uomini stanno camminando su una spiaggia, una tempesta ha scaraventato sulla sabbia un tappeto di stelle marine. Sembra un cielo stellato al contrario. Il sole le sta bruciando, senza pietà. Le stelle marine si contorcono lentamente, prima di cristallizzarsi del tutto. Uno dei due ogni tanto si china a raccoglierne una e la ributta in mare. Sono migliaia e migliaia. L’altro ha fretta di tornare a casa e gli dice《Che vuoi fare, ributtarle tutte in mare? È impossibile. Ci vorrebbe una settimana. Sei matto?》. L’altro gli mostra la stella marina che ha in mano, e subito prima di lanciarla in acqua risponde:《Pensi che lei dirà che sono matto?》”
