What I Learned in the Valley of the Shadow of Death?

Reverential fear of the Lord.

To fear the Lord with awe, instead of fearing the enemy's attacks.

The story of Job shows us that it is the Lord who allows the devil to test Job, but God also gives him a boundary in Job 1:12 "but on the man himself do not lay a finger". We also know that God restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends, the Lord gave him twice as much as he had before ( Job 42:10). This makes me reflect on the fact that God set limits to the enemy which reminds us once again that the Lord is in control and that we should not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Why am I sharing this? Because God is good even in trials.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

When Job asks to God the reason for his suffering, the Lord answered him (in Job 38 to Job 41), explaining that He created everything and knows how everything works, things that we do not know and we must recognize the sovereignty of God, to Him belongs all the glory. Since He is in control, even if things looks messy, we have to trust Him and to trust His word: everything will work together for our good.

We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for us in Christ Jesus. So, even through the suffering, we can give thanks to the Lord because He will never leave us and something good will come out of the pain.

God bless you, comfort you and remind you how Precious you are for Him, you are His Princess, His daughter. In Jesus name, amen.

Psalm 126:5

Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy. Psalm 30:11 You turned my wailing into dancing;

you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
