Gratitude

Writer's picture: SharonSharon

Have you ever tried to write down 3 things you're thankful for in one week? A few years ago, inspired by an encouragement I found on the internet for the new year, I started giving it a try. The advice was to write down for each week of the year, 1 thing you were grateful for, and put it in a glass jar. With the start of next year, every notes from the previous year would be read.

I don't know about you, but for me it was difficult at first as I kept writing the same things. After a while, I realized that I would get bored re-reading the same things so I decided to apply myself more and to try to catch more details. Surprisingly, with this exercise it became easier for me to notice and appreciate even those little things that gave me a smile and made even a sad day better.

I kept going even after a year had passed, because I noticed it helped me focus on the positive, but then I stopped.

Since the Lord knows me well, He placed in the heart of a dear lady to advise me to go ahead with a diary where to write at least 3 positive things for each day. Well, I keep going! And I sincerely suggest you to give it a try because it's worth it. I have observed that this exercise really helps me to see the positive and cultivates gratitude in me towards the Lord. It also helped me in difficult times because it showed me how He cares, even in the little things, to make us smile or to comfort us in the suffering.

So, will you try to start or continue to cultivate this habit? :) You are Precious and I am sure there are small gestures as Great things that happens to you to remind you that you are God's masterpiece! :) Created for good works which the Lord prepared before hand for you to do :) (Ephesians 2:10).
